After years of scant national attention, wind energy is being courted as a viable alternative energy resource. The spike in gasoline and natural gas prices has fueled an unexpected boom for wind as an alternative energy source and raised the profile of a trade group that has been quietly lobbying Congress for the potential of wind energy for more than 30 years.
